Patna, Oct 28 (ANI): Giving updates about the injured in the Patna serial blast case, doctor attending to the patients said that five injured were still critical and under observation, as kin of victims complained of chaos and confusion at the hospital. Explosions at an election rally killed about six people and wounded 83 on Sunday. The injured were rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Amarkant Jha, Medical Superintendent of PMCH said on Monday, that 38 injured persons were admitted out of which five were critical. Medical negligence case: SC orders Kolkata's AMRI hospital to pay Rs 5.96 cr

New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday awarded Rs 5.96 crore as compensation to be paid by Kolkata-based AMRI Hospital and three doctors to a US-based Indian-origin doctor for medical negligence, which led to the death of his wife in 1998. The apex court asked the hospital and the doctors to pay the amount within eight weeks to Kunal Saha. This is the highest compensation ever paid in a medical negligence case in India. Oct 24, 2013

Chennai doctor becomes first in country to use Google Glass to air operation live

Chennai, Sept 20 (ANI): A doctor in Chennai became the first Indian to perform a surgery wearing the Google glass as he live streamed an upper gastro-intestinal laparoscopy procedure on a 45-year-old man to medical students seated two blocks away. Google Glass has a frame similar to the traditional spectacles but is actually a wearable computer that follows voice commands. It can take photos and videos to show the viewpoint of the user. Chief surgeon JS Rajkumar, who wore the latest gadget in the operation theatre, performed a medical procedure to repair the patient___s simple hernia with his team of doctors on September 17.
