India beefs up security in border region with Bangladesh in wake of blast

Siliguri/ New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) tightened security in areas bordering Bangladesh in wake of the bomb blast in Burdwan district of West Bengal. Two women have been arrested in connection with the explosion that left two suspected militants dead on Sunday (October 05). Police is probing the possible involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami in the blast. India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the regional party Trinamool Congress, which rules West Bengal, has turned the state into a safe haven for militants and accused chief minister Mamata Banerjee of protecting the militants. Kolkata/ New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): Trinamool Congress party alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and CPI (M) could be behind the bomb blast in Burdwan district during the popular Hindu festival of Durga Puja in West Bengal. Addressing media persons, TMC General Secretary Mukul Roy said the possibility of the BJP and CPI (M) leaders committing such crimes to disturb the peaceful situation in Bengal cannot be ruled out. Two women were arrested and remanded to police custody for two weeks on Sunday in connection with the explosion that left two suspected militants dead. BJP blames TMC for turning West Bengal into safe haven for militants

New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that West Bengal's Trinamool Congress has turned the state into a safe haven for militants. BJP attacked the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal for the explosion in Khagragarh locality of Burdwan district on Thursday. BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, the ruling TMC in the state, is giving refuge to anti national elements. According to reports, some suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists were killed in the blast on Thursday in Burdwan area in West Bengal. Singh alleged that the Burdwan police, instead of handing over to the NIA the materials recovered, took away the entire evidence and destroyed it. Addressing a rally in Haryana's Karnal district Modi said that to ensure development of the state, people need to vote for a Congress-free government. Modi said that the Haryana government is spreading lies and saying that the central government has stopped exporting Basmati rice. However, in reality, Congress in Haryana has imposed 4 per cent tax. The PM further said that Congress government did not do anything for pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar yatra whereas Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opened a new road to facilitate their travel. Modi said that to determine a better future for the state, people have to vote for Congress-free Haryana. He added that people need to elect a stable government in Haryana with majority which will allow him to do work in the state.
