Cabinet gives nod to clean India mission

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave nod to clean India mission, 'Swacch Bharat'. Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, told reporters that number of plans were piloted during the Cabinet meet. The Programme consists of components for providing individual household, community and public toilets and municipal solid waste management in all 4041 statutory towns. The Cabinet also approved setting up of Clean Ganga Fund with voluntary contributions citizens, NRIs and Person of Indian Origin toward the conservation of the river Ganga. This initiative would supplement Namami Ganga Programme. The Cabinet also approved restructuring of the "Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan" (NBA) into "Swachh Bharat" Mission (rural) by a perfect synergy for clean Ganga (Ganges). Sep 25, 2014

Politicos react as CBI questions Chidambaram's wife in Saradha scam case

New Delhi, Sept 22 (ANI): Politicos from rival parties of Congress stated on Monday that law should take its own course as former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram's wife, Nalini Chidamabaram, was examined over the weekend by the CBI in connection with the alleged multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam. According to sources, Saradha Chairman Sudipta Sen, at present in jail, had mentioned about hiring Nalini Chidambaram as a lawyer at the request of Manoranjana Sinh, the estranged wife of Congress leader Mantang Sinh. New Delhi, Sep 21 (ANI): Even as CBI is examining Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s wife Nalini Chidambaram in connection with the alleged multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said that Nalini had taken Rs 1 crore as her legal fee, which is extraordinary and puts her in suspicion. He added that CBI needs to even investigate her relations with the north-east television station. Sashastra Seema Bal, ITC & SRM University donates to PM National Relief Fund for J&K flood victims

New Delhi, Sep 20 (ANI): ITC Chairman YC Deveshwar on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and donated Rs.10 crore towards the Prime Minister`s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the flood-affected people of Jammu and Kashmir. Sashastra Seema Bal Director General BD Sharma also handed over demand draft of Rs.2.12 crore on behalf of the force for rehabilitation of the flood victims. Meanwhile, the founder chancellor of Chennai`s SRM University, TR Pachamuthu, donated Rs.1 crore for the PMNRF.
