Acclaimed author, poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou has passed away at the age of 86. The celebrated writer was most known for her groundbreaking memoir I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings - which made history as one of the first nonfiction best-sellers by an African American woman. The 62-year-old leader was brutally shot on May 13, 2013, while returning from his office in Rawalpindi in Pakistan. Allegedly targeted by the Pakistani spy agency, the motive was to weaken the struggle for freedom in Azad Kashmir. The nationalist leader was remembered on his first martyrdom anniversary by Kashmiris in Europe and Azad Kashmir.
