Visakhapatnam, Nov 10 (ANI): India's Navy Chief Admiral Robin Dhowan met the family of the sailor James Jacob, who was killed in the recent ship accident off the Visakhapatnam coast and assured all possible help to the bereaved. A torpedo recovery vessel sank off India's coastal city of Visakhapatnam killing at least one person. Dhowan promised to extend all help to the family of 26-year-old sailor, James Jacob. Visakhapatnam, Nov 09 (ANI): Indian Navy paid tribute to its sailor who was killed after Torpedo Recovery Vessel sunk off the Visakhapatnam coast during a naval exercise in which four others went missing. Navy performed the last rites of commander Satish Soni by giving him state honour while the bereaved family and friends mourned and offered prayers. Soni’s wife, Sumitha Jayanth offered her last respects at the funeral. A torpedo recovery vessel sank off the coastal city of Visakhapatnam killing at least one person, the navy said on Friday, in the latest accident to raise concerns about the ageing fleet. Four other crew members are missing from the 28 personnel on board when the ship sank late on Thursday (November 06). Plane hits stray buffalo during take off in Surat

Surat / New Delhi, Nov 7 (ANI): A SpiceJet plane crashed into a stray buffalo during take-off from Surat although no passengers or crew were hurt. The airline was forced to ground the Boeing 737 which suffered "substantial damages", plane's operator said. SpiceJet said the buffalo, which was killed in the accident on Thursday evening, was "essentially invisible" against a dark background. Passengers on the Delhi-bound aircraft were transferred on to another plane, SpiceJet said. Air Vice-Marshal (Retired), Indian Air Force, Kapil Kak, said a thorough inquiry should be launched and infrastructure of all airports across the country should be reviewed. New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Indian Navy Spokesperson Captain DK Sharma on Friday said that the navy is on a full scale search operation after the Indian Navy's torpedo recovery vessel (TRV) sank off the coast of Visakhapatnam at around 8:00 pm last night. He said that one sailor lost his life and four others went missing in the incident. The vessel was on a routine mission to recover practice torpedoes fired by fleet ships when she experienced flooding in one of her compartments.
