Ghaziabad, Oct 01 (ANI): AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday invited people to come out and take part in PM Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' which starts October 02, birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Kejriwal appealed the people to work as helpers to the cleaners and later have food with them too. He asked people to get to know the grievances of the cleaners and maintain the cleanliness work afterwards too. Kejriwal further said that AAP MLAs will participate in the drive in their respective constituencies and he too will do the same in his constituency. Ravi Shankar Prasad sweeps his office premises taking part in Clean India Mission

New Delhi, Sep 26 (ANI): Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday swept his department premises along with his officers in New Delhi as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi pet project 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' (Clean India Mission). The NDA Government pledges to completely clean India by October 2019, coinciding with 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and peace icon Mahatma Gandhi. As a part of its ambitious plan, the Modi government will spend nearly rupees 2000 billion in five years. Prasad said the government was committed to the mission and proposed to clean railway station in Patna on October 02. Cabinet gives nod to clean India mission

New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave nod to clean India mission, 'Swacch Bharat'. Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, told reporters that number of plans were piloted during the Cabinet meet. The Programme consists of components for providing individual household, community and public toilets and municipal solid waste management in all 4041 statutory towns. The Cabinet also approved setting up of Clean Ganga Fund with voluntary contributions citizens, NRIs and Person of Indian Origin toward the conservation of the river Ganga. This initiative would supplement Namami Ganga Programme. The Cabinet also approved restructuring of the "Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan" (NBA) into "Swachh Bharat" Mission (rural) by a perfect synergy for clean Ganga (Ganges). Sep 25, 2014

Pune, Sep 22 (ANI): Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar's bat, tie and t-shirt were auctioned for Rupees 15 million in bid to raise funds for orphan children in Pune. The money earned by the auction went to the NGO SOFOSH (Society of Friends of the Sassoon Hospitals) which runs an orphanage. Speaking at the event, Tendulkar said, everyone is gifted with a talent, which must be recognized and put in the right direction. The orphan children had made an audio-book on Sachin Tendulkar and it was presented to him. Moved by the gesture of the children, Tendulkar said the grit and determination of the kids to present him with an audio book was an unforgettable moment for him.
