Dozens dead, over 100 wounded in Nigeria mosque attack

Kano, Nov 29 (ANI): Three bombs exploded and gunmen opened fire on the Muslim faithful gathered for prayers at the main Mosque in north Nigeria's biggest city Kano. Media reports say that dozens have been killed and more than one hundred people have been hurt by the explosions. The mosque is next to the palace of the emir of Kano, the second highest Islamic authority in Africa's most populous country. But security reports given so far said Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is safe, and he wasn't in the mosque at the time of the incident. The police blocked the accident area right after they arrived at the bomb site, and started the rescue right away. No organizations or persons have announced to create the incident, but recent attacks in Nigeria are blamed on Boko Haram for revenge. Nov 29, 2014

Aligarh, Nov 28 (ANI): AMU students on Friday protested against political interference in the University. In protest the students shouted slogans and took out a march holding banners and placards. Some BJP leaders have decided to hold a demonstration on the campus on the birth anniversary of Raja Mahendra Pratap, an alumnus of AMU, whose family was closely associated with Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder of the institution. In a letter to Union Human Resource Development minister Smriti Irani, the Aligarh Muslim University’s Vice-Chancellor wrote that there could be huge communal unrest if the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Pratap is observed on the campus. New Delhi, Nov 28 (ANI): Reactions come in as the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University wrote to Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani, warning of "massive student unrest" and a "probability of communal conflagration" if "certain elements" go ahead with their plan to commemorate the birthday of Raja Mahendra Pratap, on the varsity campus on December 1. BJP said that AMU should refrain from communalizing and try to keep itself away from politics for the good of the university.
