PM Modi meets governor of Aichi Prefecture of Japan

Tokyo, Sept 02 (ANI):Prime Minister Narendra Modi began the fourth day of his five-day state visit to Japan by dropping in at Tokyo's Sacred Heart University and meeting Natsuo Yamaguchi, the leader of the New Komeito, which is a junior coalition ally of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The two leaders reportedly exchanged views on issues of bilateral, regional and global importance to the two countries. On Monday, in a joint statement issued after delegation-level talks, Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pledged to take steps to boost bilateral cooperation in sectors such as railways, civil aviation, energy, maritime affairs, science and technology and women's empowerment. Former speaker of Gujarat assembly, Vajubhai Vala, will take oath as the new Governor of Karnataka on Monday. Siddaramaiah added he would have welcomed any person, had he been consulted by the Narendra Modi-led government. BJP exploring dubious means to form government in Delhi: AAP

New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday (August 29) alleged that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was exploring dubious means to form government in Delhi. AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said that the BJP was trying to poach members of legislative assembly (MLA) to shore up its strength in 70-member house. He added that BJP could misuse Lieutenant Governor Najib Jung office to achieve its objective. Delhi has been under President's rule since February when AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of chief minister after his 49-day-old government failed to table its Jan Lokpal Bill in the state assembly. New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): According to reports Lieutenant Governor (LG) is likely to write to President Pranab Mukherjee discussing alternatives on government formation in Delhi. Jung's recommendation will go through the home ministry to the Union Cabinet, which will then advise the President. The President can accept or reject that advice. If he accepts it, the single largest party will be asked to name its leader who will then be invited to take over as chief minister. Meanwhile, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said his party will react to the ongoing speculation about government formation in Delhi only after Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung takes a final call on the issue. New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): Manipur Governor VK Duggal tendered his resignation to President Pranab Mukherjee late Thursday night becoming the ninth governor to do so since the NDA government assumed office in May. Duggal was appointed as the governor of Manipur in December last year. After resigning from the post, Duggal said that the move has not come under pressure from anybody and said that he resigned on his own accord.
