Petrol prices to be reduced by Rs.2.18 per litre from Friday

New Delhi, Aug 14 (ANI): The Indian Oil Corporation will reduce petrol prices by Rs.2.18 per litre in Delhi from Friday post-midnight. The price of petrol in the capital will be Rs.70.33 per litre. The cut in the retail price of petrol is about three percent. The Company also said that the cut is being undertaken owing to a reduction in international crude oil prices. Three state-run fuel retailers - IOC, BPCL and HPCL - tend to move their prices together. Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted, _Price of Petrol will be reduced from midnight of 14/15 August 2014 in the range of Rs.1.89-2.38 (Rs 2.18/litre at Delhi)._ The price of petrol was last reduced by Rs.1.09 per litre on July 31, while the price of diesel was hiked by 50 paise per litre. Food consignment enters India's northeast via Bangladesh for first time

Agartala, Aug 8 (ANI): For the first time a food grain consignment from India's southern province of Andhra Pradesh reached northeastern state of Tripura through neighbouring Bangladesh as a part of cooperation mechanism between the two nations. Three Bangladeshi trucks carrying 51 tonnes of rice entered Tripura through the Akhaura integrated check post on Thursday in the presence of officials of Food Corporation of India (FCI). Indian police escorted Bangladeshi trucks as they directly entered the FCI warehouse at Nandannagar. This step has been taken to reduce the cost and prevent a second transshipment at the Akhaura India-Bangladesh border. BSE closes points 76.26 down on August 7

New Delhi, August 07 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 76.26 points down to stand at 25,589.01. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 22.80 points down to stand at 7,649.25. MCX and RAMCOCEM were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 5.73% and 4.05% along with HPCL and Indian Oil Corporation with an increase of 3.41% and 3.16% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Bhushan Steel and Bharti Infratel with a decrease of 19.99% and 7.07% along with Jubilant Food Works Ltd and UPL with a decrease of 4.81% and 4.72% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is down 9.90 points at 15,763.33 while the banking sector is up 0.20 points at 17,180.05 and the reality sector is down 6.78 points at 1,912.54. Two die as heavy rains wreak havoc in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Aug 05 (ANI): Two persons have died as heavy rains wreaked havoc in Bhubaneswar city of Odisha, compelling authorities to take urgent measures to evacuate people living in low areas. The incessant rains clogged city roads, creating huge potholes in them. The rainwater gushed through the streets, making it difficult for people to commute or even step out of their houses. People said that local municipal body workers had not been able to do much to drain the water.
