Cricket association of Bihar urges SC to make names in final probe report public

New Delhi, Nov 26 (ANI): Cricket association of Bihar has urged the Supreme Court to make the names of cricketers mentioned in the final probe report of Indian Premier League (IPL) scam public in the interest of the sport. Advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB), asked the Supreme Court to disclose the full Mudgal committee report while also producing in the court IPL accreditation documents that show Gurunath Meiyappan as the team principal of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Petitioner Aditya Verma said he has full faith in the court to deliver justice in the case. The Supreme Court had relieved Srinivasan of his duties as the country's cricket board president to ensure a fair investigation into the IPL scam, in which Meiyappan was indicted for illegal betting on the 2013 IPL. Election officials sent to polling booths via helicopters in poll bound Jharkhand

Gumla, Nov 24 (ANI): Election officials left for polling booths in the Maoist affected districts of Jharkhand via helicopters on Monday to prevent any untoward incidents ahead of polls that start Tuesday. Indian security forces had launched a massive anti-Maoist operation on November 11 to prevent any problem in the election process. District Election Officer, Gauri Shankar Mij said all necessary precautions are being taken in the Maoist affected districts for the polls. Maoists have called for boycott of the five-phased polls in Jharkhand that begin from November 25 and end on December 20. The results would be announced on December 23. An election booth officer who was sent via helicopter to a polling station, Arun Tripathi said their wish was to see high turnout in the polls. Nov 24, 2014

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Monday after HRD Minister Smriti Irani paid visit to an astrologer's home in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla reacting over Irani's visit said that astrology is a science and even she has faith in astrology. BJP leader Ram Madhav said that it is about one's personal faith and the issue should not be hyped. Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said that HRD Minister should herself decide whether she believes in science or astrology. Congress leader Anand Sharma refused to make a comment on the issue.
