Families urge Central government to declare truth about abducted Indians in Iraq

Amritsar/Jalandhar, Nov 28 (ANI): Getting suspicious about the well being of their loved ones after some media reported that the 39 out of 40 Indians abducted by ISIS were killed, family members on Friday urged the government to declare truth on the same. Media reports said that the workers were killed by Islamic State (IS) militants on the basis of account given by eyewitness Harjeet Massih, who managed to escape from their clutches. Later, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj told Parliament that 39 abducted construction workers in Iraq were alive, on the basis of information from six sources, thus contradicting eyewitness’ account that they were shot dead. Wife of a victim, Seema said that she doesn’t have any contact with her husband. The abductees were working for a Turkish construction company in Mosul. Meanwhile, mother of another victim, abductee Harbhajan Kaur said that she has faith in what the government is saying and has been praying to god for her son’s safe return to home. Nov 28, 2014
