Mirza applauded the initiative by PM Modi. She further nominated Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sajid Khan, PV Sindhu and Abhinav Bindra among others. Tharoor still enjoys high level of confidence amongst Congress people: Digvijay Singh

Bangalore, Oct 16 (ANI): Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh said on Thursday that party leader Shashi Tharoor who was recently sacked from the post of All India Congress Committee spokesperson, still enjoys a high level of confidence amongst its members. On Tuesday, the Congress Party had relieved Shashi Tharoor from his duties as the party spokesperson, following the complaint of Congress' Kerala unit against Tharoor's conduct and behaviour to the party high command. The KPCC had also spoken out against Tharoor after he had accepted the Prime Minister's invitation to join the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' on October 2. New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor was on Monday removed from the post of spokesperson of the party. The decision came after Congress President Sonia Gandhi accepted the recommendation of AICC disciplinary committee to remove Tharoor from the list of spokespersons. Accepting the decision of the party, Tharoor said that he accepted the decision taken by the leadership as a loyal party worker. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had earlier complained against Tharoor, accusing him of praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. Modi had called up actors Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Kamal Hassan, actress Priyanka Chopra, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, yoga guru Ramdev, Congress party lawmaker Shashi Tharoor and Ambani to take up the drive.
