Traders participate in _Silk Mark Expo_ in Kerala to boost business

Kochi, Kerala, Aug 25 (ANI): Traders across India participated in a five day _Silk Mark Expo_ organised by Central Silk Board to explore business opportunities, showcasing varieties of silk dress materials and sarees. The exhibition that was flagged off on Wednesday aims to educate consumers about the purity of silk and provide access to genuine silk varieties. The event is to spread awareness among consumers who get confused with duplicate and look-a-like materials available at cheaper price in markets. According to the organisers, it is a real crowd puller as the trade fair has 99 percent pure silk products with authenticity mark as found on gold ornaments which assures full guarantee. Deputy Director, Central Silk Board, K Babu Giridharan said workshops are being conducted on how silk is prepared from its beginning stage of cocoon to yarn. Aug 25, 2014
