Rishikesh, Nov 30 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has demanded quick release of funds from the central government with the aim to expedite the country's ambitious project of clean Ganges mission. Rawat inaugurated the two-day WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) Summit on Saturday, on the banks of River Ganga to lay emphasis on the cleanliness drive. Addressing the inaugural session, Rawat said that maintaining sanctity and purity of River Ganga was a top priority of the state government. Varanasi, Nov 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi is drawing close to turn into a smart city, as urban development ministry laid out the plan of the ambitious project. Modi, who was elected in May to represent the 3,000-year-old riverside city of Varanasi, has taken personal responsibility to upgrade the holy city into India's one of the first smart cities.
