Brisbane, Nov 15 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met French President Francois Hollande for bilateral talks at the G20 Leaders' Summit in Brisbane, Australia. The G20 summit in Brisbane is focused on boosting world growth, fireproofing the global banking system and closing tax loopholes for giant multinationals. Earlier this year, France had proposed to give India a 1 billion euro ($1.4 billion) credit line to fund sustainable infrastructure and urban development projects. The credit line would be available over three years and would be delivered through the French Development Agency, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius had said on his visit to New Delhi in July. Saradha scam: Suspended Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh attempts suicide in jail

Kolkata, Nov 14 (ANI): Suspended Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh, an accused in the Saradha chit fund scam, attempted suicide late last night, said police official. He has been in Kolkata's Presidency Jail since he was arrested in November last year. The police say Ghosh took 58 sleeping pills and then informed jail officials that he had taken them. His stomach has reportedly been washed and he is out of danger but in a serious state. Ghosh was the chief of Saradha Group's media operations. State Prison Minister HA Safi said in a statement that Kunal Ghosh has access to 2-3 pills as his regular prescription and that he said he took pills at 2:30 am. Former TMC leader Asif Khan hospitalized after his arrest in alleged cheating case

Kolkata, Nov 07 (ANI): Former Trinamool Congress leader Asif Khan was admitted to a state run hospital in Kolkata after he was arrested for his alleged involvement in a cheating case. Khan complained of chest pain and other health related problems following which he was admitted to NRS hospital. His lawyer said that the case was falsely forged on him and is a part of political vengeance. Khan, who had lashed out at a section of the party leadership and accused them of being involved in the Saradha chit fund scam, was arrested from his residence at Tiljala in the eastern part of the city in connection with a cheating case in a land deal in the Rajarhat-New Town area. India to discuss black money issue at G20 Summit

New Delhi, Nov 07 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise the issue of black money besides discussing the energy, security and IMF among others at the G20 Leaders' Summit in Brisbane next week. The G20 Leaders' Summit is scheduled to kick off on November 15-16 in Brisbane, Australia. Sherpa of the prime minister for the G20 summit, Suresh Prabhu told mediapersons in New Delhi about India's agenda during the summit. Prabhu said to deal with the issue of tax evaders and black money it would be interesting to have discussion on automatic exchange of information among the countries. G20 countries have committed to present policy measures at the Brisbane summit that will lift global growth by an additional 2 percent over five years. Prabhu said there should be more transparency in the global energy mix and it should include renewable and clean energy. Prabhu also said India would raise the issue of reforming the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at Brisbane summit. Prabhu added that during the summit India would also talk on infrastructure, employment generation, changing the cost of remittances and environment and climate change.
