New Delhi, Dec 12 (ANI): Politicos reacted on Friday after President Pranab Mukherjee in his autobiography stated that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was not aware of the Constitutional provisions of Emergency that was imposed in 1975 and it was Siddartha Shankar Ray who led her into the decision. BJP leader GVL Narsimha Rao said that these revelations are quite interesting. BSP Chief Mayawati said that it is a matter of investigation. NCP leaders Majid Memon and Tariq Anwar said that it was very big mistake committed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav Indira Gandhi was a very aware Prime Minister. Ravi Shankar Prasad pitches for open data

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Communications and Information Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Thursday, advocated the need for open data terming it as the most crucial tool to realise the power of information. Prasad was speaking at the National Conference on Open Data and Open API (Application Programming Interfaces) in New Delhi. Open data is the idea that advocates free availability of certain kinds of data which can be easily accessed by all irrespective of any copyright or patent restrictions. Prasad also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of digital India will also empower the rural India. Blast outside DAV College in Roorkee, 1 dead

Roorkee, Dec 6 (ANI): One child is reported to be dead after an explosion took place near DAV College in Roorkee city of Uttarakhand. According to the reports, the blast took palce at a garbage dump. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat appealed the people to maintain calm and cooperate with the police in the investigation. India plans to revamp age old postal network

New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): India plans to revamp age old postal network for extending services in the fields of banking, insurance and e-commerce in the country. Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad said that vast network of postal department must be leveraged to promote creativity. A task force on leveraging the post offices network of the country among others had suggested setting up of three subsidiaries as a part of a holding company under the postal department under the ministry of communication and information technology for extending services in the fields of banking, insurance and e-commerce. After releasing the report submitted by the task force, Prasad said that postal department needs to rediscover themselves. It was proposed that a new postal law may be enacted to give statutory basis for these operations. Dec 5, 2014

Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that after continuous demand by the opposition for PM_s remark over the issue, PM Modi made a statement and said such language is condemnable. He said that even when the PM made his statement, the Opposition especially Congress is still raising the issue out of desperation.
