Ahead of assembly polls, Prithviraj Chavan quits as Maharashtra CM

Nagpur/ Mumbai, Sept 26 (ANI): A day after Nationalist Congress Party ended its alliance with Congress reducing the party into minority in Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan resigned as Maharashtra chief minister. Chavan submitted his resignation to Maharashtra governor on Friday. President's Rule is expected to be imposed in the state, where election is scheduled to be held on October 15. RBI chief says inflation coming down

Mumbai, Sept 15 (ANI): RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, said on Monday that India's macroeconomic indicators are improving but Asia's third-largest economy needs to eliminate diesel subsidy completely. Rajan said data suggested that it was a matter of time that we can declare ourselves totally out of inflation. Rajan was speaking at a gathering of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Indian Banks' Association (IBA) at the thirteenth edition of FIBAC. With crude oil prices falling globally, Rajan pitched in for eliminating diesel subsidies completely. Faizabad/ Bhopal/ New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): A number of evacuees returned safely back home and reunite with their families and loved ones while Sikh temples in Delhi send packed food items prepared in the community kitchen to victims of flood-ravaged Kashmir. The pilgrims who returned gave credit to the Indian army and Modi government for their safe rescue. The pilgrims were then airlifted from helipad at Governor's house to the airport in helicopters, from where they were flown to their destinations. New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): A clutch of right-wing Hindu groups protested against a Pakistani lifestyle exhibition 'Aalishan Pakistan' on Thursday demanding its cancellation on the grounds that such events cannot go hand-in-hand with Islamabad's support to militant activities in India. Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena had written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Police Commissioner to call off the four-day event. Police detained the protesters as they shouted slogans outside the exhibition venue. President of Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena, Jai Bhagwan Goyal, said that one-sided friendship should end.
