New Delhi, Sep 25 (ANI): Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave nod to clean India mission, 'Swacch Bharat'. Law and Justice Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, told reporters that number of plans were piloted during the Cabinet meet. The Programme consists of components for providing individual household, community and public toilets and municipal solid waste management in all 4041 statutory towns. The Cabinet also approved setting up of Clean Ganga Fund with voluntary contributions citizens, NRIs and Person of Indian Origin toward the conservation of the river Ganga. This initiative would supplement Namami Ganga Programme. The Cabinet also approved restructuring of the "Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan" (NBA) into "Swachh Bharat" Mission (rural) by a perfect synergy for clean Ganga (Ganges). Sep 25, 2014

Rajouri, Sept 23 (ANI): Government of Kashmir will give six months of free ration to the flood victims, said a senior official. Both the Indian and Pakistani sides of the disputed Himalayan region have seen extensive flooding this month, with Srinagar particularly hard hit. Hundreds of people have been killed and tens of thousands are homeless. Authorities say the cost of damage in Jammu and Kashmir may run into billions of dollars. People wait for relief and help as houses have been collapsed by the worst flooding seen in more than a century in the province. There are signs that the relief operation is gaining traction as authorities brought in heavy-duty pumps to evacuate water from low-lying residential areas, including two from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. Ghulam Nabi Azad visits flood-affected areas, says state will provide full financial aid

Reasi, Sep 17 (ANI): Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday visited Reasi region of flood-ravaged Kashmir and said the state will provide full financial support to the flood-victims. Azad interacted with flood survivors and surveyed the damaged areas and said that state government will provide free ration to flood survivors for at least six months. Authorities say the cost of damage in Jammu and Kashmir may run into crores of rupees. Azad added that more than half of the Kashmir is still submerged in water. The central government delivered 25 water filtration plants with the capacity to filter 400,000 litres a day, and 13 tonnes of water purification tablets.
