Politicos pay tribute to Gopinath Munde

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): Political leaders from various political parties paid tribute to late BJP leader Gopinath Munde on Tuesday. Among those who paid tribute to Munde were Rajnath Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Vijay Goel, Harish Rawat, Hamid Ansari, Rahul Gandhi, LK Advani, Vasundhra Raje, Arun Jaitley, Ram Vilas Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan. Munde tragically passed away on Tuesday morning after meeting with an accident in Delhi's Prithviraj-Tughlak Road at around 6:30 am. Munde was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital and was later shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre where he was declared dead. Jun 3, 2014

PM Narendra Modi meets with SAARC nation heads

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): A day after he took oath as the 15th prime minister of India, Narendra Modi held "courtesy meetings" with leaders of SAARC countries. Modi greeted Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who arrived first at the Hyderabad House where the two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. Later in the day, Modi met Maldives President Abdulla Yameen, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam and Nepal PM Sushil Koirala. His most significant meeting was with Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif. The series of meetings will end with Modi receiving Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. Manmohan Singh meets Afghan President Hamid Karzai

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): India’s outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday met Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, who arrived in New Delhi to attend Narendra Modi's oath taking as India's next Prime Minister. The decade-long journey of Manmohan Singh as India's Prime Minister came to an end on May 17. Karzai had last met Singh in December last year where they discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern. Nawaz Sharif, Nepal PM and Afghanistan President arrive in Delhi

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif landed in India's national capital to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held on Monday evening. Modi will take oath as the new prime minister of India in the presence of all SAARC nations. Sharif is accompanied by a 14 member delegation and is guarded by around 8-10 Pakistan elite commandos considering the high-level threat he faces. Before leaving from Lahore, Sharif said that he was "carrying a message of peace to India." Meanwhile, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai also arrived in Delhi to attend Modi's swearing in ceremony. May 26, 2014
