New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, urged the youth to preserve country's age-old tradition of religious harmony and tolerance, while delivering a lecture at a school in New Delhi on Saturday. Addressing the students, the Dalai Lama urged them to think cautiously not only about their own community or nation but humanity. New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari on Saturday anointed his son Shaban Bukhari as Naib Imam at the Jama Masjid. Over 100 religious leaders from India and abroad attended the ceremony. The 19-year old Shaban Bukhari is pursuing his bachelors in social work at Amity University. The post of Naib Imam puts him in the line to become the Shahi Imam of the Jama Masjid. The Delhi High Court had earlier stated that anointment of Shaban Bukhari as successor to Shahi Imam has no legal sanctity; however, it had refused to stay the anointment ceremony. Nov 22, 2014

Hindu migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan seek Indian nationality

Bhopal, Nov 22 (ANI): Hundreds of Hindu migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan who have been living in India for the past several years demanded Indian nationality. The migrants met the district collector in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh and requested the officer to take the required initiative to hasten the process of providing them Indian nationality. The migrants said they face problems of religious identity in countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan. Some of them were even forced to discontinue their business. A Pakistani Hindu migrant, Ajit Rajan said over 500 families of Hindu migrants have been living in Madhya Pradesh for years now. Panchkula, Nov 20 (ANI): Controversial religious leader Rampal finally saw his day behind the bars at the Panchkula police station. He was arrested last night after days of resistance from his supporters that turned Haryana's Barwala town into a war zone. Rampal is to be produced at the Punjab and Haryana High Court today around 2:00 PM. While being taken from hospital to police station, Rampal said that all allegations against him are false. The religious leader's supporters alleged that they were not kept hostage in the ashram but were afraid to come out.
