The Mumbai FC team played a friendly match with the football club of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Tuesday in Mumbai, winning the match 2-1. Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, who is also the co-owner of Mumbai City FC, was also present to watch the friendly match. Japan, Oct 07 (ANI): The sixth Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix 2014 was held on October 1 at Yamaha Motor Corporation in Iwata city, Shizuoka, Japan. This was the world competition for defining the top Yamaha service engineer with profound knowledge and technical skills. This competition has been held every two years since 2002. Twenty mechanics from 18 countries participated in the final contest this year. In 2001, Yamaha established YTA- Yamaha Technical Academy in the world wide service network as their main education program, and it is currently deployed in 36 countries with 33,000 YTA certified engineers have participated to the World Technician Grand Prix. The contestants were tested in theory, trouble shooting, repair on actual motorcycles and skill of making relationship with the customer during reception, vehicle delivery and after service. The contest was designed to judge the engineer's skill in the areas of proper service knowledge by providing service that communicates the ideas of Yamaha products and providing hospitable customer service. The municipal bodies have asked their staff, with the help of volunteers, to carry out cleaning process soon after the idols are immersed in the river. Hindu festival Durga Puja celebrates the victory of good over evil. The festival culminates with the immersion of the Durga idols into water bodies. Meanwhile, the municipal body in Siliguri city of West Bengal has also made similar arrangements to keep the rivers clean. SCI launches first shipping service to Myanmar

Chennai, Oct 04 (ANI): India launched its first shipping service to Myanmar connecting both the countries under the concept of 'look east' policy to boost bilateral ties. The shipping corporation of India (SCI) and the ministry of shipping have launched a direct service to Myanmar for the first time with the help of foreign ministry and commerce ministry. The fortnightly service was flagged off at Krishnapatnam Port, one of the fastest growing ports on the East Coast of India, after it sailed from Chennai late Friday. Secretary, Ministry Of Shipping, Vishwapati Trivedi said beyond commercial trade it will strengthen trade relationship between both countries. Kashmir witnesses sanitation drives after flood waters recede

Srinagar, Oct 03 (ANI): The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar, has been witnessing frequent cleanliness and sanitation drives ever since the flood waters receded in the city, where more than one million people reside. Emergency workers have been battling to prevent waterborne diseases like cholera from spreading as fetid water swilled around the Kashmir valley after the worst flooding in more than a century. Sanitation and cleanliness drives have swung into motion as the waters recede after a month of heavy flooding. The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has deployed tippers, robotic arms and excavators, among other machinery alongside hundreds of staff members who have been cleaning roads and garbage non-stop. The Municipal Commissioner, GN Qasba, said that a record 22,000 metric tonnes of garbage had been extracted from the city after the floods.
