Poonch, April 23 (ANI): In a bid to strengthen ties between India and Pakistan, the state transport department of Jammu and Kashmir rejoiced over the faster clearance of transit permits for the bus service to Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Nostalgia ruled hearts when long separated cousins from India and Pakistan got to meet each other due to the regular bus service that has emerged out of strengthened bonds between the two countries. Security tightens at Indo-Nepal border for peaceful elections

Gorakhpur, April 15 (ANI): India’s Border Security force conducted surprise security check at the Indo-Nepal international border adjoining Gorakhpur following reports of smuggling of arms and ammunition at the time of general elections in the country. The security personnel and dog squads checked the vehicles and luggage crossing over from Nepal, as lack of required equipment and vigil at the border had made it an easy route for smugglers to bring in explosives. The check was conducted to ensure that Polls are carried out peacefully in the country. Recently, two militants, who tried to cross over from the other side of the border, were arrested in Gorakhpur. The security forces have been put on high alert after the incident. Arica and Central Chile, April 2 (ANI): Two people were confirmed dead and three were seriously injured when a major earthquake struck off the northern coast of Chile on Tuesday night, authorities said. The earthquake of magnitude 8.2 struck triggered a tsunami that hit the northern part of the country but no serious damage was reported. Residents across northern and central Chile were evacuated from their homes. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the quake generated a large tsunami with the biggest wave reported at 2.3 meters. The Chilean navy said the first big wave hit the coast within 45 minutes. The government said it had no reports of significant damage to coastal areas, but around 300 prisoners took advantage of the confusion and escaped from a jail in Iquique, Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo said.
