Congress' Captain Amarinder Singh to meet Sushma Swaraj to talk about abducted workers in Iraq

Amritsar, Dec 13 (ANI): Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh said on Saturday that he would meet India's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to seek status report on bringing back abducted workers from Iraq. Singh met relatives of missing construction workers in Amritsar and assured them of pursuing the central government on this issue. Meanwhile, relative of another abducted worker, Manish, said even after meeting Swaraj several times, there were only assurances. Swaraj had said last month that search for missing Indian workers in war-torn Iraq was still on, assuring families that India would leave no stone unturned to find their loved ones. Dec 13, 2014

Experts say arrest of ISIS twitter handler a wake-up call

New Delhi/ Allahabad, Dec 13 (ANI): Experts on Saturday (December 13) said the arrest of a man operating a pro-Islamic State Twitter account was a wake-up call and called upon investigation agencies to work along with neighbouring countries to fight militancy. Security Experts Praful Bakshi and Qamar Agha said that it is the failure of investigating agencies and a wake up call for authorities. Talking about the incident, cyber expert, Pawan Duggal, said that cyber terrorism was emerging as the biggest challenge. Mehdi Masroor Biswas's arrest at home came days after Britain's Channel Four identified him as the man behind "Shami Witness", the Twitter handle followed by thousands of people including most foreign fighters for the Islamic State. Bengaluru, Dec 13 (ANI): The man accused of handling pro-ISIS twitter account has been arrested by a special team of officials of Bengaluru Police on Saturday. DGP of Karnataka, L Pachuau said that the man identified as Mehdi Masroor Biswas was an engineer by profession and belongs to West Bengal. Pro ISIS twitter account handler detained in Bengaluru, Politicos react

New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Political leaders on Saturday welcomed the detention of Pro ISIS twitter account handler in Bengaluru. Bengaluru police have detained the handler of the pro ISIS twitter handle at ShamiWitness on Friday night. However, the top police officials declined to confirm whether he was arrested and under which sections was a case made out against him. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agrawal said that its good that the person in question is arrested but the intelligence agencies should remain more alert on such issues.
