Anti-nuclear group urges government to stop expansion of Kudankulam plant

Chennai, July 05 (ANI): Women members of the Anti Nuclear People's Movement held a news conference in Chennai on Saturday, saying another reactor is not required, following the government's plan to start a third and fourth reactor as an expansion of the present nuclear power plant in Idinthakarai village of the area. Member of Anti Nuclear People's Movement, Malar, said that they are demanding the government to stop the unnecessary expansion of the nuclear power plant. India has ratified an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to expand its civilian nuclear programme, in a move aimed at unblocking a major nuclear partnership with the United States. India responds to Pak_s remark on Kashmir, says language of bygone era doesn_t help

New Delhi, July 05 (ANI): In response to Pakistan_s comment that India_s Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory, Indian Foreign Ministry said that the language of bygone era has not helped or served anybody any purpose. Stressing that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said such remark was not in agreement with Indian PM Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif_s desire to normalise the relationship through dialogue. On the eve of Modi_s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam in Islamabad said they didn_t accept the so-called accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India and Kashmir was not an integral part of India.
