Political bigwigs cast their votes in Maharashtra

Maharashtra, Oct 15 (ANI): Political bigwigs in Maharashtra cast their votes today as polls began for 288 assembly seats in the state. For the first time, all four major parties in the state-the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena-are contesting assembly elections on their own instead of as alliance partners. BS Hooda attacks BJP and Om Prakash Chautala at his Haryana rally

Jhajjar, Oct 13 (ANI): Addressing a rally in Jhajjar district of Haryana, state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday attacked BJP and also INLD Chief Om Prakash Chautala. Hooda said that BJP had made big promises before coming to power which faded as soon as they won the LS elections. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that Pakistan as well as China would be given befitting reply though nothing as such happened. He said that it was for the first time that PM was welcoming Chinese President and at the same time, their army was infiltrating into India. Further, attacking OP Chautala, Hooda said that a person who is not even eligible to fight elections is dreaming of becoming the chief minister. He also referred to the Jayalalithaa case and said that law can bring down a CM in such cases and that Chautala should stop dreaming of becoming the CM while in jail. Oct 13, 2014

INLD chief O P Chautala surrenders at Tihar Jail

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): INLD chief and Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala surrendered before the Tihar Jail authorities as per the Delhi High Court's orders. Before surrendering at the Tihar Jail, Chautala asked his party workers to work peacefully to make the INLD emerge victorious in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. Chautala had been convicted and sentenced to 10 years jail term in the JBT teachers recruitment scam case. He had been granted bail on medical grounds. The CBI had earlier moved the Delhi High Court seeking cancellation of interim bail granted to Chautala in the case, saying he had violated bail conditions. Oct 12, 2014

NDA applauds 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' even as Congress calls it a UPA policy

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' on birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan, NDA leaders lauded the scheme even as Congress party termed it as a UPA policy. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the scheme will motivate farmers. Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that the scheme is welcome step and the development of village will lead to development of India. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said that it should be made clear if the funds for development will be given by an MP alone and if that so, what will happen to central government's funds for the same. New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Following the order of events in INLD Chief Om Prakash Chautala's case, he said on Saturday that if the Court asks him to surrender today he will do so. Chautala said that he has not been given any directions by the Court not to attend or address any public gathering and blamed the BJP for pressurizing CBI to frame him. Chautala said that the BJP is on the verge of loosing elections in Haryana due to which it is trying to defame him. He added that INLD is sure to get 2-3rd majority in the state so it does not need support from any other political party.
