Politicos urge govt to take action as Lankan court awards death penalty to five Indian fishermen

New Delhi/ Chennai, Oct 30 (ANI): Politicos on Thursday urged the Indian government to take quick action after a Sri Lankan court awarded death penalty to five Tamil fishermen. The fishermen have been given death penalty for drug smuggling reportedly. Earlier in the day, MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin had stated that the Indian government feels the fishermen are innocent and a legal process will be followed by the Indian government through the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka to appeal against this judgement. Police recover bodies of British couple in hotel in Agra

Agra, Oct 23 (ANI): Police on October 21 recovered the dead bodies of a British couple from a hotel room in Agra. Police suspected it to be a case of drug overdose as several bottles of cough syrups, strips of sleeping pills and anti-depressants were found lying next to the bodies on the bed.The police said that James Oliver Gaskell (28) and Alexandra Nichola Louise Gaskell (24) are residents of United Kingdom. Hotel manager, Jagdish Gupta, said the couple had arrived in the hotel a day before they were found dead. The investigation into the matter is on and the British Commission has also been informed.
