Sharif- Modi meeting outcome better than expected: Sartaj Aziz

Islamabad, May 28 (ANI): Pakistan on Wednesday said the actual outcome of the meeting between Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif was much better than expected. Sharif's National Security and Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz said in Islamabad that both the PMs recognized the need to turn a new page in the relations between the two South Asian neighbours. Aziz said the issues of cross-border terrorism and Kashmir were discussed but not substantially during the bilateral meeting on Tuesday in New Delhi. He added that Sharif did not meet the Hurriyat leadership as it was a ceremonial visit to India. During the meeting, Modi also sought that the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case be expedited, a demand which Aziz described as not a new one from India. May 28, 2014

New Delhi, May 27 (ANI): Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh on Tuesday highlighted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with all SAARC leaders. Singh said that the PM held good and substantive meetings with individual leaders and held bilateral talks with each. She said that the PM held talks with each nation’s representative and discussed the concerned issues especially with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in particular. Manmohan Singh meets Afghan President Hamid Karzai

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): India’s outgoing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday met Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, who arrived in New Delhi to attend Narendra Modi's oath taking as India's next Prime Minister. The decade-long journey of Manmohan Singh as India's Prime Minister came to an end on May 17. Karzai had last met Singh in December last year where they discussed bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern. New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday arrived in India's capital New Delhi to attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony to be held in the evening. Rajapaksa arrived with a delegation comprising of Minister of External Affairs G.L. MEA confirms Sharif's attendance for Modi's oath taking ceremony

New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin on Saturday confirmed that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would attend the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi. Akbaruddin, said that all eight countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) would be present for the august event.
