Local police recover landmine and rifle in Lalgarh

Lalgarh, Aug 28 (ANI): Local police in West Bengal recovered a landmine along with a rifle near Lalgarh village in west Midnapur district. Police officials said that it was not clear how the mine had got there. The landmine which was placed near a canal leading to Lalgarh was later defused. The village caught media attention in November 2008 when guerilla Maoists launched an attack on police forces and cadres of the political party, Communist Party of India -Marxist (CPI-M). In 2009, Operation Lalgarh was launched by security forces to smoke out the Maoists from the region. Aug 28, 2014

Gwalior judge appeals SC for new panel in sexual assault case, hearing on Thursday

New Delhi, Aug 26 (ANI): A Gwalior judge, who had alleged sexual harassment against a Madhya Pradesh high court judge, moved Supreme Court expressing dissatisfaction over the probe committee and appealed the formation of a new panel under the SC.
