PM Modi flags off Kathmandu-Delhi bus service in Nepal, Gadkari in Delhi

Kathmandu/ New Delhi, Nov 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on SAARC Summit visit to Nepal, flagged off bus service between New Delhi and Kathmandu in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Tuesday. Modi, accompanied by Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, also took a round inside the decorated bus and interacted with the passengers. Meanwhile, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also flagged off the DTC Delhi-Kathmandu bus service at Ambedkar stadium bus terminal in New Delhi and congratulated the people on its inauguration. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will run a luxury Volvo bus on the Delhi-Kathmandu bus route and the bus will complete its journey via Agra, Lucknow and Gorakhpur in 30 hours. Meanwhile, enhancing the defence ties between India and Nepal, PM Modi also handed over a 14-seater ALH Dhruv Mark 3 chopper to Nepal Army earlier in the day. Massive employment drive for youth takes place in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 19 (ANI): A recruitment drive restarted in Jammu and Kashmir and corporate firms held workshops to provide employment to youth as the region was recovering from the worst floods in a century. The three-day drive was launched on Monday in Kashmir's capital, Srinagar, by a special initiative called Udaan or 'flight' under the public-private partnership, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) India. 'Udaan' has been working in the state for three years but had halted its efforts after floods struck the region in September. A coordinator of the NSDC, Bint Abass, said that they were renewing efforts to provide jobs to the affected youth in the state. Abass added that 18 corporate firms were participating in the drive to train and recruit youth in a wide range of sectors like banking, information technology, finance, hospitality and education. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 40.85 points up to stand at 8,430.75. JSWENERGY and RURAL ELECTRIFICATION CORPORATION LTD. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 12.13% and 10.25% along with NCC and Bajaj Finance Limited with an increase of 9.54% and 8.62% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include RASOYA PROTEINS LTD. and BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES LTD. with a decrease of 19.91% and 7.03% along with PUNJ LLOYD LTD. and DEN with a decrease of 5.67% and 5.11% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 266.87 points at 18,926.80 while the banking sector is up 83.16 points at 20,201.93 and the reality sector is up 5.58 points at 1,674.94. Roadshow promotes tourism between India, Bangladesh

Agartala, Nov 16 (ANI): A four-day road show, 'Maitri Tourism 2014', kicked off in Agartala to promote tourism between India and Bangladesh. The event is being organised by Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development and Bangladesh Inbound Tour Operators Association in collaboration with Tripura Tourism Development Forum and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation. A seminar took place to discuss the sub-regional tourism circuit linking India's northeast, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and the land routes linking the capital cities of Dhaka and Agartala. A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Secretary Subhas Das said tourism is among the most flourishing sectors in the world and plays a significant role in generating employment.
