TMC protest against Madan Mitra's arrest in Saradha chit fund scam case

New Delhi, Dec 15 (ANI): Leaders of Trinamool Congress (TMC) party on Monday protested against the arrest of state minister in connection with Saradha chit fund scam, shouting slogans against the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested transport minister of West Bengal Madan Mitra, on Friday for his role in the scam. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refuted allegations against her minister and has alleged political vendetta by the BJP. TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee said CBI was working on the orders of the BJP. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that everyone in West Bengal is aware of TMC's fraud and the arrest of their leaders have come as berserker for the party, hence it is using the protest tool to protect them, which is not going to help in anyway. Maoists torch vehicles at mining belt in Jharkhand

Lohardaga, Dec 13 (ANI): The red rebels burnt trucks and heavy vehicles used for mining in Jharkhand, hindering the mining work in the area. The mining, dispatch and transportation of bauxite from the mines in the Maoist hit Kisko police station area of Lohardaga district came to a grinding halt after a group of rebels torched more than 20 vehicles. A truck owner, Pradip Sahu said there are around 300 labourers employed and their livelihood has been affected by the incident. He said Maoists have torched bauxite laded trucks before also. The Maoists from Bharatiya Communist Party (BCP) came late at night, attacked the labour working and torched the vehicles, obstructing the excavation work of bauxite. They burnt at least 20 trucks, two earth movers, a compressor machine and a tractor employed for the mining work. The rebels also left pamphlets behind in which they owned up for the incident.
