This comes after two people in the state lost their lives on Wednesday (February 18) due to the deadly H1N1 virus. A 13-year-old girl, suspected to be infected with the virus, is undergoing treatment in Doda district of Jammu. To check the spread of swine flu, Mir added, rapid response teams and separate wards for suspected patients were set up in district hospitals. Government says no need to panic even as swine flu toll hits 700 mark

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Even as India witnessed a steep rise in the number of swine flu cases in recent days, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth said that there was no need to panic, adding that the government was taking measures to ensure proper treatment to patients. The H1N1 virus has claimed nearly 700 lives in the country and the number of people affected by it has crossed 10,000 mark, say reports. Seth said that delay in treatment was amounting to rising casualties. Seth said that he was in touch with officials to ensure consistent supply of medicines and other medical equipments to government hospitals. He has also directed drug controllers of various states to ensure availability of necessary vaccines, along with guidelines for usage and treatment protocol. Srinagar, Feb 18 (ANI): The deadly H1N1 swine flu virus claimed two lives in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (February 18). The victims, who succumbed to the disease at Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar city, included a man and a woman. Kangra, Feb 13 (ANI): Two medical students have been tested positive for swine flu in Himachal Pradesh. This comes after a woman was diagnosed with the deadly HINI virus earlier this week at Doctor Rajender Prasad Government Medical College (DRPGMC). The two people who have fallen prey to the disease are students at DRPGMC. They have been shifted to isolated wards for treatment. Medical Superintendent of DRPGMC, Dinesh Sood, said masks have been distributed among students and staff members as a precautionary measure. Swine flu has killed 191 people in the country in January alone, with the newly formed Telangana state being worst hit. So far, 2,038 people have been afflicted by the virus in India, according to media reports. At least 58 swine flu deaths have been reported in northwestern state of Rajasthan. Feb 13, 2015
