Asaduddin Owaisi says all born Muslims and should embrace the religion, Politicos condemn

New Delhi, Jan 05 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday condemned Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi after he said that Islam is the 'real home' of all religions in the world and hence the real 'home coming' will be when people of other religions embrace it. Owaisi had said that all are born as Muslim and are later converted to other religions. NCP leader Majid Memon said that Owaisi is making such statements for vote bank and should refrain from the same. JD (U) leader Ali Anwar said that such statements by 'communal forces' harm the nation as a whole. Petition filed in India against US firm for using Mahatma Gandhi's image on beer cans

Hyderabad/ New Delhi, Jan 04 (ANI): A lawyer in Hyderabad city of Andhra Pradesh filed a petition on Sunday against a US liquor company for using iconic freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi's picture on beer cans. New England Brewing Company came out with beer cans named 'Gandhi-Bot' claiming that their intention was to pay homage to Gandhi. He also said that using Gandhi's image on the beer cans is punishable under Indian laws. Matt Westfall, head brewer and partner at the New England Brewing Company, has apologised on behalf of the company through mail. Meanwhile, CPI leader D Raja said the American company should understand the sentiments of people. Meanwhile, BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said that the act is unfortunate and is definitely done by a party insider. Suspense continues over government formation in J-K, BJP asserts importance

New Delhi, Jan 2 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party once again said on Friday that no stable government would be possible in Jammu and Kashmir without the party's participation, even as the suspense over government formation in the state continues. Two days ago, People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the largest party, had also met the Governor. After the meeting, Mehbooba Mufti appeared to lean towards the BJP as she invoked former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's vision and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi "has a big responsibility" towards the state. In the five-phased recent state assembly polls, the PDP won 28 seats in the 87-member Jammu and Kashmir assembly; the BJP won 25, while the National Conference and the Congress won 15 and 12 seats respectively.
