Hit-and-run case: Salman Khan exempted from submitting driving licence

Mumbai, March 03 (ANI): A sessions court on Tuesday rejected the prosecution plea asking actor Salman Khan to produce driving licence in the infamous hit-and-run case. Earlier, a Regional Transport officer had deposed in court, saying that Khan did not possess a driving licence when his car met with an accident in 2002. Khan is accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder in the hit-and-run case, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of ten years in prison. Mar 3, 2015

FIR registered against driver of vehicle: Khattar after convoy runs over pedestrian

Faridabad, Mar 3 (ANI): Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar on Tuesday said that an FIR has been registered against the driver of the pilot car of his convoy which ran over a pedestrian killing him. Two policemen in the CM's pilot vehicle also sustained injuries in the accident that happened on the national highway near Karnal on Monday night. He added that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh has been provided to the family of the victim. Khattar called the incident unfortunate and said that he will ensure that such incident does not repeat. Heart travels from Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh to save life

Hyderabad, March 01 (ANI): In a one-of-a-kind medical procedure, a heart retrieved from a brain dead patient was airlifted from from Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh to save a life. As per reports, a 30-year old labourer who met with an accident earlier this week in Bengaluru city of Karnataka was declared brain dead. His organs, including his heart, lungs and kidneys were donated. A recipient for his heart was found in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh state’s Hyderabad city. The heart was then airlifted from the state-run Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) hospital in Bengaluru to the Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad. A green corridor was created in the city so that the ambulance had a freeway. The vehicle carrying the organ reached the hospital in less than three minutes. Mar 1, 2015
