Tokyo, Bangkok, Dec 30 (ANI): Alps Electric is a multinational corporation producing a variety of electric components such as units for car device, touch panels for smartphone, censors and switches. Established in 1948, Alps Electric produces a variety of products. The first product was a rotary switch for radio receiver. It then started producing a wide range of products such as variable capacitors, keyboard, remote control, printer and so on. Started as a small factory, Alps Electric is a multinational company and have branch offices the world over, including Asian nations such as India, Malaysia and Vietnam. The company is working on a small communication module to stop cars automatically and avoid car accidents. Many Japanese companies, including the Japan Airlines are expanding their footprints. Harrowing time for commuters as buses in Chennai go on strike

Chennai, Dec 28 (ANI): People in Tamil Nadu had a harrowing time as majority of buses went off roads after employees of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) went on strike on Sunday (December 28). The employees lamented the state government has failed to take care of employees' welfare and they sat on indefinite strike to press for their demands. TNSTC employees are seeking wage revision and also want the jobs of 20,000 temporary employees to be regularised. The strike was supposed to commence from Monday (December 29) but began a day earlier after the salary of the labourers who were absent from work was not given to them. Adding more to the worry of the state residents, private vans and auto rickshaws were seen charging 10 times more than the usual fare. Close to 1,20,000 workers went on strike from Sunday. Public sector units collaborate to revive shut fertiliser units

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Four major Public Sector Units (PSUs) signed joint venture agreements on Wednesday in an effort to increase urea output and revive closed fertilizer units. The four PSUs - GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited), Coal India Limited (CIL), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) and Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCIL) - signed agreements in New Delhi to set up an Integrated Coal Gasification cum Fertilizer and Ammonium Nitrate complex at Talcher in Odisha. Coal Minister Piyush Goyal, who was also present for agreement singing, said that the deadline for starting the units was March 31, 2019. Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister, Ananth Kumar, hoped that the country would soon start exporting urea. India's fertiliser requirement is 32 million tonnes annually whereas the production is 22 million tonnes. Dec 24, 2014
