Indian Army prepared for any incident that may unfold, situation at LoC calm: Lt Gen KH Singh

Jammu, Jan 15 (ANI): General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lt Gen KH Singh on Thursday said that Indian Army is prepared for any incident that may unfold. Singh said that the counter infiltration posture is firmly in place and that infiltration bid will be eliminated if any attempt is made. Lt General Singh also added that there are inputs that terrorists might try to attack soft targets including schools and civilian areas ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit later in January. He assured that the situation in the LoC, south of Pir Panjali is by and large peaceful at least for last 2 months. Jan 15, 2015

Indian army organizes blood donation camp in Kashmir

Budgam, Jan 13 (ANI): Indian army organised a blood donation camp in Jammu and Kashmir in a bid to reach out to the local residents. Many soldiers, along with residents, donated blood at the camp organised in Budgam district. General Officer Commanding Kilo Force of Rashtriya Rifles, Asit Mishra, said that blood donation is the highest form of humanism. Requirement of blood has always been high in the state due to militancy and insurgency activities. The army said it planned to take up similar projects in the future. Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai offloaded from Delhi-London flight, says it's a 'bullying tactic' b

New Delhi, Jan 12 (ANI): Greenpeace India Senior Campaigner Priya Pillai was allegedly stopped at IGI Airport from boarding a flight to London. Pillai while speaking on the issue said that she was stopped at the immigration counter despite having a valid visa and her passport was stamped with "offloaded." She added that she was on her way to meet a group on tribal affairs and another on Indo-British relations and wasn supposed to talk on the Mahan coal block issue and its impact on tribals. She further stated that the whole process is a 'bullying tactic' by the government. Greenpeace India has written to MEA and Airport Authority of India about barring Pillai and has asked the government to explain the legal basis for the ban on her leaving the country. Jan 12, 2015

BJP condemns as Kejriwal counter attacks PM Modi's remarks on AAP

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): BJP condemned AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal after Kejriwal backlashed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's anarchist jibe. PM Modi while addressing the Abhinandan rally had indirectly attacked Kejriwal for calling himself an anarchist. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that Kejriwal is not capable of making a mark in Delhi.
