Rail Budget 2015-16: No increase in passenger fares

New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Union Railway Budget Suresh Prabhu on Thursday presented the Rail Budget for fiscal year 2015-16. Prabhu assured that there has been no increase in passenger fares in railways. He added that surveillance camera will be installed on select mainline and ladies compartments to insure safety of women. Further speaking on women's safety, Prabhu added that Nirbhaya fund would be utilized for augmenting safer travel for women. President Mukherjee addresses Budget Session in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 23 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee addressed the Parliament as the Budget Session in Lok Sabha began on Monday. Mukherjee said 'Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas' is the government's fundamental view. He appealed to all the Members of the Parliament to spend 50 percent of MPLAD fund on the 'Swachh Bharat' mission. The Budget Session contains 44 items of financial, legislative and non-legislative business. The first part of the Budget Session will continue till March 20 while the second part will commence after a month-long break from April 20 and conclude on May 8.
