BSE closes points 104.19 up on Jan 21

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 104.19 points up to stand at 28,888.86. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 33.90 points up to stand at 8,729.50. JUBILANT and TATA ELXSI LTD. were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 9.33% and 8.56% along with MUTHOOT FINANCE LTD. and CORPORATION BANK with an increase of 7.00% and 5.89% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include NATCO PHARMA LTD. and GDL with a decrease of 5.90% and 5.62% along with RALLIS INDIA LTD. and ITC with a decrease of 5.47% and 5.01% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 13.81 points at 19,666.49 while the banking sector is up 87.73 points at 22,721.16 and the reality sector is down 3.64 points at 1,639.74. Hanoi/ Japan, Jan 20 (ANI): In order to meet the rapid growth in electricity demand driven by a growing economy and expanding industrial base, Vietnam has decided to introduce nuclear energy. A developing country with a population of 92.5 million, Vietnam has selected Japan as its partner. The government issued a master plan specifying the project of building nuclear power plants, as the first time in Vietnam and South East Asia. Electric Power University (EPU) in Hanoi, is one of the six universities in Vietnam that are authorized to provide human resource training in nuclear power generation. The University has opened the Department of Nuclear Power in 2010 where students are learning basic knowledge required for nuclear power generation. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is one of the first partners which effectively cooperates and supports Electric Power University and provide nuclear engineering lecture. Recently, "Cool Japan lounge" exhibition was held at AEON Mall Binh Duon Canary in Vietnam by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, as a part of "Cool Japan World Trial" initiatives. Authorities baffled by mysterious death of fish in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Jan 18 (ANI): Senior district officials and members of Pollution Department have rushed to Gorakhpur after thousands of fish were found dead in Rapti River. Officials have warned villagers not to take and eat fish as the exact cause of the death is not yet known. There was a mad rush of villagers to catch fish once the news spread. A senior district official, Ranjan Kumar, said they were probing the mysterious death of fish. Dr. Ranjana Tripathi of the pollution department said that the initial findings pointed towards toxicity in the river water. Local municipal authorities have also visited the spot and are in the process of cleaning the river with some chemicals. Jan 18, 2015

New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Former IPS officer and BJP leader Kiran Bedi denied Congress' allegation that she used anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare to enter politics saying that joining Anna was the right thing to do at that time. She said that during those days, the nation was into a morass of corruption and a voice had to be raised against the same. Bedi said that she do not have the habit of using people and of being used. Further, she also said that she was willing to fight Delhi Assembly elections from any part of the city as she served Delhi in different capacities during her tenure. New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party councillor Neeraj Gupta on Wednesday denied that he had slapped a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) junior engineer, adding that he had been pushed in the crowd. A video clip earlier in the day, showed Gupta, who is the councillor for Ward 188, slapping the junior engineer, surrounded by people, in Sangam Vihar East area in south Delhi where he had gone to stop an unauthorized construction.
