Three-day International Aviation Conclave kicks off in New Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): The three-day International Aviation Conclave focussing on promotion of aviation, global cooperation, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and other policies began in New Delhi on Thursday (December 11). The conference-cum-exhibition is being organised by aviation firm Beta Aviation, under the support of the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the US-India Importers Council. The theme revolves around "Empowering Aviation: Encouraging Stability Towards Sustainability" and aims to showcase the growth potential for aviation in the Indian economy. Civil Aviation Minister, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, told delegates and participants that he hoped to learn from their presentations and exhibits. Dec 11, 2014

102 Air India pilots found flying with lapsed licenses

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Air India has recently discovered that as many as 102 pilots of its wide body Boeing fleet have been flying without clearing a mandatory test that helps keep their licences valid and without which the same lapse. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had ordered Jet to remove its chief of training due to this serious lapse. Admitting the lapse of its training department, Air India wrote to DGCA saying that the route check of the 102 pilots was not done as per the required schedule that rendered their licences unfit for flying. Meanwhile, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that strict action should be taken in the case. Oct 26, 2014
