TISS scholar from Manipur found dead at his home in South Delhi

New Delhi/Bangalore, Nov 20 (ANI): A 33-year-old Manipuri scholar was found murdered at his home in Kotla area of South Delhi on Thursday morning. The deceased Zingran Kengoo was a PhD scholar from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). The body of the deceased was discovered by his house owner's son who found him lying in a pool of blood. According to the reports, Kengoo was found with a slit throat and his head almost beheaded. A knife was also recovered from the room where the incident took place. The body has been sent to the hospital for postmortem. Meanwhile, in Bangalore a 25-year-old Manipuri youth was allegedly assaulted by three people. The Manipuri youth who was badly injured has been hospitalized. Investigations are underway in both the cases. Nov 20, 2014

Media persons condemn attack by police at Rampal's hermitage

New Delhi/Hisar, Nov 19 (ANI): Media persons condemned the assault on them on Wednesday after some media persons were attacked by police during clashes with the Rampal's supporters on Tuesday. The incident occurred after followers of Rampal opened fire at police personnel standing on guard outside the hermitage, thus forcing police to resort to baton charge and firing, leaving many injured and two police personnel getting shot. Journalist Prashant Gupta said that the attack on media persons have scared the camerapersons and reporters. BSF jawan opens fire at J and K CM Omar Abdullah_s residence, arrested

Srinagar, Nov 17 (ANI): A BSF trooper, posted outside Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah_s residence on Monday accidentally opened fire from his automatic rifle, police said. According to reports, the BSF trooper was immediately detained and disarmed after being identified and is being questioned for further information. Tension spread in the high-security Gupkar road area as people believed that the attack had taken place at the chief minister_s residence. Meanwhile, Abdullah posted a tweet expressing full faith in his security force despite the incident.
