Rail Minister gives order to help J&K flood victims, ministry to send 50 lakh water bottles daily

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): ADG Public Relations, Indian Railways, Anil Saxena on Thursday said that Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda has given orders to the ministry to help Jammu & Kashmir flood victims in all possible way. Saxena also said that Katra-Udhampur rail connectivity, which had been affected by the floods in Jammu and Kashmir, is back to normal. He said that the ministry have established transit pint and nodal at New Delhi railway station. He also said that the railways department is sending 50 lakh bottles of water daily to the flood ravaged state. Sep 11, 2014

Kerala Liquor ban: SC to hear bar owners plea on Thursday

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Wednesday told the Kerala Government not to enforce its order to ban non-five-star hotel bars till Thursday, when the apex court will hear several petitions challenging the ban. An apex court bench headed by Justice Anil R. Dave asked the Kerala Government to wait till it ruled on the matter. The state government had passed an order banning the sale of liquor at bars and hotels below the five-star category. The ban was to come into force from September 11. Last month, in a bid to reduce the availability of liquor across the state, the Kerala Cabinet sanctioned the closing of 730 bars. Sep 10, 2014

SC refuses to restrain media on CBI chief's request

New Delhi, Sep 04 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday turned down CBI Director Ranjit Sinha's plea to restrain media from reporting on the 2G spectrum allocation case. The apex court said that it will take up application filed by advocate Prashant Bhushan to keep Sinha away from 2G case on September 8. Sinha is accused of holding regular meetings with officials of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group to influence the CBI's investigation. Sep 4, 2014
