Politicos react as Manmohan Singh questioned by CBI in coal block scam case

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Wednesday said that there is no need to politicize former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's examination by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over his role in the coal block allocation case relating to Hindalco, as it is purely a legal process. Earlier today, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed that the CBI was under pressure for not investigating former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his role in the coal block allocation during UPA tenure. The CBI has reportedly examined and questioned the former Prime Minister on his role in the coal block allocation case relating to Hindalco. The CBI is yet to give an official confirmation in this regard, even as Dr Singh's office has denied receiving any such summons. The CBI has to file a status report in connection with the case before a special court by January 27. Jan 21, 2015
