New Delhi, Aug 03 (ANI): Political leaders on Sunday expected strengthened bilateral ties as PM Narendra Modi reaches Nepal for his 2-day visit. BJP leader Yogi Adityanath said that international relations had been weakened in the last 10 years but now with Modi as the PM they will again strengthen. Congress leader Rashid Alvi appreciated the move and said that people are looking forward for a positive outcome of the visit. RJD leader Manoj Jha stated that people will have to wait and watch hoe Modi handles relations with Nepal. PM Narendra Modi leaves for two-day Nepal visit

New Delhi, Aug 3 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi left New Delhi for his two-day visit to Nepal on Sunday to take forward his initiative of economically integrating South Asia. Modi's visit to Nepal will be the first bilateral engagement by an Indian prime minister in 17 years. He will address business leaders and may also announce economic aid for the neighbouring country. India is also set to offer Nepal a landmark pact to help develop its huge hydro-electric power potential as the South Asian giant takes another step to re-assert influence among smaller neighbours where China has been forging closer ties. Kerala Tourism, UNESCO sign MoU for promoting Spice Route heritage

Kochi, Aug 02 (ANI): The tourism industry of Kerala signed an agreement with UNESCO to begin a historic cooperation between the two bodies to promote and protect the Spice Route Heritage. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Secretary of Kerala Tourism, Suman Billa, and Director and UNESCO representative to India, Shigeru Aoyagi, in the presence of the state tourism minister, AP Anil Kumar and Deputy Chairman of Kerala State Planning Board, KM Chandrasekhar. Nepalese Commerce Minister meets Indian counterpart over trade and other issues

New Delhi, Aug 01 (ANI): Nepalese Commerce Minister Sunil Bahadur Thapa met his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Himalayan country. Thapa, who is on a four-day visit to India, has discussed issues of bilateral concerns, including trade, investment and petroleum supplies, during his meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and other leaders. Japanese Trade Minister Kazuyoshi Akaba eyes strong relationship with India

New Delhi, July 31 (ANI): Japanese trade and industry minister, Kazuyoshi Akaba, met India's trade minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Thursday in a bid to enhance bilateral ties. A deal would allow Japanese companies to install carbon-cutting technology in India and in return receive carbon credits under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) that can be used to offset their own carbon footprint under the country's emissions target or be sold to the Japanese government.
