New Delhi, Nov 14 (ANI): Political leaders on Friday condemned state health department as doctor in government owned Primary Health Center in Nebua Naurangia village in Kushinagar performs 42 sterilization operations in a record two hours. BJP Spokesperson GVL Narasimha said that this has brought forth the deplorable conditions of health facilities in government health centers. Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that it is unfortunate that even after many deaths in similar case in Bilaspur, it is continued in UP. Politicos demand Health Minister's resignation over sterilisation camp negligence case

Raipur, Nov 13 (ANI): Political leaders on Thursday demanded resignation of Chhattisgarh Health Minister Amar Agarwal after more than a dozen women died at a mass sterilisation camp. The leaders also demanded quick judicial inquiry in the case. Congress leader Shobha Ojha, said a proper investigation should be conducted into the matter. Meanwhile, NCP leader Majeed Memon, seconded Ojha and also demanded thorough action in the case. However, BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said the government of Chhattisgarh has taken appropriate and exemplary action in the case. Doctor involved in sterilization surgeries in Bilaspur taken into custody

Bilaspur/ Raipur, Nov 13 (ANI): Doctor RK Gupta, who conducted sterilization surgeries on 85 women in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur District, has been taken into custody. Gupta had been suspended on Tuesday on the orders of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh after the incident came to light. Earlier it was reported that the death toll in the sterilization tragedy rose to 13 with the death of another woman. More than 50 women, who were left in a critical state after undergoing sterilization operations, are undergoing treatment at four different hospitals in Bilaspur. A team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is in Bilaspur to attend to critical patients.
