Goa police arrest Italian national, recover drug worth millions

Panaji, Feb 02 (ANI): Anti-narcotics cell of police in Goa arrested a 54-year-old Italian national and recovered drug worth one hundred million from him. Acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted in Anjuna beach area during which accused Vincenzo Rainone was caught red-handed. Later his house was searched where police found 30,000 LSD papers (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) and liquid LSD. This is one of the major seizures of LSD papers by the Goa police. The accused had been visiting Goa on business and tourist visas since last 14 years. Rainone will be produced before court for police remand. Feb 2, 2015

Drug Racket Case: Punjab and Harayana HC stays transfer orders of ED official Niranjan Singh

Chandigarh, Jan 21 (ANI): The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday stayed the implementation of transfer orders of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Assistant Director Niranjan Singh who is probing 4000 crore synthetic drug racket case. The decision was taken on the public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Lawyer Navikiran Singh. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on February 2. Navikiran Singh said that it was wrong to order transfer of an official during the investigation. Jan 21, 2015
