Hike in aviation fuel price by 8.2 percent will increase fare by Rs 500 per passenger: Aviation Expe

New Delhi, March 01 (ANI): Aviation Expert Harshvardhan on Sunday said that the hike in aviation fuel price by 8.2 percent will increase fare by Rs 500 per passenger. He said that the increase in service tax of 2% also increases the fare and thereby the development will adversely affect the passengers. The government has hiked the price of aviation fuel by 8.2 percent. After the price revision, which came into effect from February 28 midnight, the aviation turbine fuel will cost Rs. 50,363 per litre per kilolitre in New Delhi. The price hike will also have a direct impact on the airfares as fuel costs account for about 40 percent of the airline's operating expenses. On Saturday, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited had also announced the hike in petrol and diesel prices, citing rise in international crude oil price and depreciation of rupee as the reasons. Explosion at Gulf Oil Corporation factory in Hyderabad kills two

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (ANI): Two people died and at least 13 were injured after an explosion at a factory belonging to Gulf Oil Corporation Limited in Hyderabad. Reportedly, this was the fourth blast in the factory in the last 12 years. Factory workers and residents of the surrounding areas also gathered outside the factory and held a protest. Telangana home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy also visited the spot. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the injured were immediately taken to a hospital. Mamata Banerjee's aide Shibaji Panja held for alleged financial fraud

West Bengal, Feb 22 (ANI): Entrepreneur Shibaji Panja, who accompanied West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on her Bangladesh visit, was on Sunday arrested and produced in the Barrackpore court for alleged financial fraud. Panja was detained at the immigration counter of the Kolkata airport. According to reports, the Delhi Police had been looking out for him and had issued a notice for the same on February 19. Panja had allegedly taken a loan of Rs 18 crore from Industrial Financial Corporation, after submitting some fake documents. Meanwhile, BJP leader Tathagata Roy questioned Banerjee and demanded an explanation on the company of people she keeps.
