Congress slams Narendra Modi as Lok Sabha polls draw near

Ahemdabad /New Delhi/Mumbai, Feb 23 (ANI): The ruling Congress increased its verbal attacks on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, as the general elections draw near.The verbal spat between the leaders of opposition and the ruling Congress has gained momentum with the general election due in May, which will decide the country's future prime minister. Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia, said that eminent leaders of the BJP have earlier spoken against Modi, so it makes no difference if the other political party members also do the same. US bans sale of bidis from Indian company

FICCI gives thumps up to Chidambaram's interim budget

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): The members of the Federation of Indian Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) applauded the union interim budget and welcomed the changes introduced in it on Monday in New Delhi. Indian businessmen were cheered by P Chidambaram's estimate that the fiscal deficit would shrink further to 4.1 percent in 2014/15. However, FICCI President Sidharth Birla said they were happy that Chidambaram had not used populist measures ahead of the elections, which they feared he would. Srinagar, Feb 07 (ANI): Separatists in Jammu and Kashmir hailed Pakistan’s resolution, calling upon India to remove security forces from the state and accept their right for self rule in the region. The Pakistan National Assembly on Tuesday (February 04) unanimously passed a resolution calling upon India to withdraw all security forces from the state and accept their right to self-determination. It also said that India should include the people of Kashmir in the Indo-Pak dialogue.
