Car rally thrills visually impaired in Bhopal

Bhopal/ Kolkata, Jan 11 (ANI): A non-profit organization organized a Blind challenge car rally for visually impaired in Madhya Pradesh to create awareness among people on Sunday. During the rally, the vehicle was driven by a person with vision but the directions were being given by the blind, who through navigator in Braille language guided them about the route and speed. The drivers had to drive on a 30-kilometre route and the directions were told by the blind. The rally saw participation of 55 cars. A visually impaired boy, Ashish Gupta, said he was quite thrilled about the concept. The challenge was not to speed or take over other cars; however, drivers were penalized for driving very slow. Participants were given certificates and first three navigators were presented with cash award and trophies. The rally was flagged off by Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur. Meanwhile, a vintage car rally was organized in Kolkata where around 182 cars were put on display. Jan 11, 2015
