Bengal Tableaux for Republic day showcasing Kanya Shree initiative was not allowed: Derek O' Brien

New Delhi, Jan 26 (ANI): Trinamool Congress leader Derek O' Brien on Monday while speaking on the missing of West Bengal tableaux from the 66th Republic Day parade said that the tableaux from West Bengal depicting the path-breaking Kanya Shree initiative was not allowed by the Centre. He added that UN is also partnering this scheme and almost 10 lakhs girls have been benefitted by this. Govt will not resort to ordinances if Opposition lets Parliament function: Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi, Jan 22 (ANI): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said on Thursday that the Central government is coming up with a new housing scheme which requires a lot of investment. Naidu also said that the Central government is not in favour of resorting to ordinances but the Opposition should also let the Parliament function properly to keep holding debates and discussions. Govts banking for all scheme surpasses target: Jaitley

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise to end “financial untouchability” with a scheme to ensure majority of households in the country of nearly 1.3 billion people has a bank account has almost been fulfilled, according to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jaitley announced that the scheme called Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna (PJDY) or Prime Minister’s National Mission on Financial Inclusion, has achieved its target well before the deadline. According to the ministry of finance, by January 17, 2015 a record number of 115 million bank accounts have been opened in the country.
