At least five patients loose eyesight after operation in Himachal Pradesh

Kangra, Dec 20 (ANI): At least five patients have lost their eyesight after operation at a free eye surgery camp in Himachal Pradesh, said a probing official. The Himachal Pradesh government has set up an inquiry commission under Doctor SK Sharma, to conduct speedy probe into the incident in Kangra district. Sharma said the operation took place in Pathankot town of neighbouring state of Punjab at a private hospital. Nearly 60 people underwent cataract surgeries at the camp. The mishandled surgeries at the eye camp were discovered when patients came to a government office asking for medicine and financial help. Dec 20, 2014

Sonia Gandhi admitted to hospital after respiratory infection, stable

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital after she complained of problems in breathing.
