Indo-Bangladesh border trade increasing, says top official

Agartala, Sept 23 (ANI): The border trade between India and Bangladesh through Tripura is increasing at a fair speed, said a top official of the state industry. Director of Industries, department of Tripura, P L Agrawal, said that trade is continuously increasing between both the countries. Agrawal assured that by next month, one of the two border haats (market) in Tripura will be operating and will increase Indo-Bangladesh official trade. He also informed that Bangladesh has agreed to allow India to use its river and sea port. There have been talks on opening of the Chittagong and Ashuganj ports and both sides are positive. India collaborates with Sweden promoting environmentally sustainable transport

Bangalore, Sept 23 (ANI): India collaborates with Sweden on promoting environmentally sustainable transport (EST) which will lead to accomplish safe, reliable, affordable, efficient, people-centric and environment friendly transport system. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the workshop on "the way to sustainable transport: an Indo-Swedish perspective". Swedish Envoy to India Harald Sandberg and senior advisor to Sweden trade minister, Ambassador Jonas Hafstrom, were also present at the event in the country's IT hub of Bangalore. The aim of their visit is to identify areas within transport and urban planning with potential for further collaboration between the two countries. Calling for best practices and planning for transforming Indian cities and towns safe for all, Siddaramaiah said the workshop will foster economical, social and environmental developments. The visit by the transport delegation from Sweden is a reciprocal visit to strengthen the bilateral relation between Sweden and India and aims to integrate developing countries in the world economy and contribute in the eradication of poverty. 2 French trekkers remain untraceable in HP, fifth search operation called off

Dharamshala, Sep 21 (ANI): Police called off the fifth unsuccessful search operation to trace the two French trekkers who went missing last year in the mountains of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and remain untraceable. Valentin Marcel Gorges and Francois Xavier Camille trekked to Tirund Hill in the city on August 22 last year with a group of 32 members. The two went missing after they decided to trek further to scale Moon Peak and separated from the group. Several teams of the state police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Army helicopters conducted a month-long massive manhunt and scoured the Dhauladhar hills but remained unsuccessful in tracing the missing duo. The search was resumed on September 16 by a 27 member team comprising mountaineering experts, state police, local trekkers and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Sep 21, 2014
